While trimming some tree limbs, our son found this white cocoon. It's well made and I'm certain to see the resident this Spring.
Which reminds me, don't stay wrapped up in your own cocoon. Instead, get out and visit Dragonstar at http://blackandwhiteweekend.blogspot.com/
to see the latest in emerging photography.

What kind of bug is going to come out of this caccoon I wonder? Good find your son has made, and it makes a good monochrome photo too!
ReplyDeleteOh...wonder what will emerge? This is a great shot, love the texture.
ReplyDeleteFascinating! And love the glow of light falling round it!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've even captured the fibers dangling from the edges...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt truly is beautifully made, and you show it well. Have you any idea at all who the resident might be?
ReplyDeleteI love the way you posted the link - made me laugh aloud and read it to my hubby. He laughed too. With appreciation, I should explain!
I like the middle one best because of the light. This reminds me that I haven't seen a cocoon since I left Texas almost two years ago.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! Good for your son to have eyes for the nature :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder what a twig is though? A kind of butterfly?
Very interesting! There is a slight glow to it which is very appealing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot! Stay warm down there! Crazy that you are getting weather like that down there. My mom was freaking out last night because she heard that y'all might get snow on Friday. Be sure and take pics if you do! Candace
