DOWNTOWN HOUSTON

I had to take this one while moving. At first I didn't like the blur off to the left. But now I like it since it seems to make a nice counterpoint to the darker building on the right.
The leaning buildings also echo the upward movement of our dynamic city.

I know this is Houston in Black & White, but once a year I like to publish a color shot. It's my one indulgence before going back to the self-imposed restrictions of monochrome.
Happy New Year from the fourth largest city in America!

HOLIDAY STILL LIFE

I found this crepe myrtle pod wedged between the leaves of one of my plants and thought the pair was a nice study in contrasts.
Dip them in gold or silver and no Christmas ornament would be finer.
Merry Christmas!

PAINTER'S PALETTE

Here's a picture of my painter's palette. It made such a nice pattern with dark and light textures that it was worth a photo.
