THE CONVERSATION

This has got to be one of the coolest buildings in Houston. It's the Glassell School of Art next to the Museum of Fine Arts in the Museum District. The glass walls & reflections surrounding the people captured my imagination. It was a fun shot.

  1. If you sit in such a place, you must be aware that people can see you - perhaps not how many can now see them all round the world.

  2. Hi Lucy,
Yes, I thought about that when I took it. It's a dilemma all photographers face. That famous kiss on the streets of New York with the sailor and the nurse after WW II comes to mind. I don't think anyone found out their names, yet it's an icon of that era and has been seen a million times over.

  3. I really like this: the many man-made lines accented by the natural ones of the tree, and the various light effects make for a complex, but unified, and interesting image.

  4. Oh yes! Great lines everywhere, a lovely tree, and some unaware people. As you say, fun!

  5. Hi Dimple,
Thanks for mentioning this! That's exactly what I was aiming for....the tree branches seem to turn into the rafters of the building.

  7. That sure is a cool building and it looks like it was built to be in black and white. I love this shot! I'm always looking to photograph people through windows.

I took my photo inside the Paris Metro which is what they call their subway and Solferino is the name of the stop. I don't know why they named it that? :)
